Some thoughts on AI use during this project:
Lissic was created with support and ideas from AI, but the large majority (90%+) is hand-written, with the exception of tests, which are ~80% AI written. The documentation is 100% hand-written (for better or worse ).
There were a lot of "I have these requirements, what are my options? ... But what about this consideration? Can I account for that too? ... What if I changed this other part of my architecture, how does that change things?"-type conversations. More often than not, it was with an AI that didn't see the code at all. One of AI's biggest strengths is knowing the domain of what exists out there, but I see its biggest weakness being iterating for the sake of making a product better. Some of that can happen by observing the end product, but some of it can only happen during the development process itself. For example, there were a handful of changes I made while writing the first draft of the documentation when I thought, "wait... is this really what I want?" while writing it down.
