Our 6 person FL household has 8 vehicles. 2012, 2011, 1996, 1992, 1989, 1969 (needs to go away), 1963, 1961. We all strongly prefer tactile controls and no screens. We're a bit divided on window cranks and more divided on A/C.

For a daily driver, son #3 wanted a car w/o seatbelts. He pulled a 1963 Dodge Dart out of the weeds upstate. Floors are whatever sheet metal we have lying around (ex tags) and he covered the seats & doors with denim that used to be my pants (doors have pockets). He can pull, rework and replace the engine in under 2 days.

Besides commuting, he drives it to RI every year.

That's crazy. You obviously don't care much about your children's lives if you let them roll around in 60+ year old vehicles with methhead level repairs done to them.

This is actually good, because if anything will break the auto makers fascination with steering everyone to an SUV, it will be the next generation of buyers simply not buying the oversized monster trucks they are offering. It will take a few years of overfull dealer lots, but they will get the message in the end.
