I first discovered NuShell in 2023 and used it on and off for my data analysis work. For example, if I needed to check what unique values a particular field in a, deeply nested, JSON took on. With some practice it was far reliable than weeding out errors from bash scripts.

Although LLMs take most of that pain away, NuShell may still have a place. Xonsh: https://github.com/xonsh/xonsh is another very powerful shell but with a different design philosophy.

This seems really cool. A simple syntax, a cool display layout and in general a better customer experience. I think agents could better operate these style of commands as well.

If this is kinda backward compatible with bash or zsh, it would be a drop in replacement for me.
