Sharing a fun little tool I built late last year, early in my vibe-coding arc.
The short story is that I wanted to discuss The Road Ahead with ChatGPT and couldn’t find an ebook edition to pull snippets from. But it turns out it actually kind of was available digitally! My physical copy came with a CD-ROM in a sleeve glued inside the back cover, that I vaguely recalled included a PC application for reading the book. Since that software no longer works on modern Windows (without significant tinkering or emulation), I decided to see whether AI could brute-force an extractor.
Mostly out of nostalgia (I was 12 when the book was published) I’m sharing the tool along with a meta-essay in the README that ties the book’s vision of the future back to the experience of building the tooling itself.
