I predict the M7 will make a big improvement over M6, maybe even with PCIe 5.0.
There probably will not be a M6 Ultra but we might get a M7 Extreme (double the M7 Ultra) with more than 2 TB/s Unified Memory bandwidth.
I am an independent chip designer myself[1] working on a Wafer Scale Integration with 46.3 trillion transistors (11 times more than the Cerebras WSE-3). Still, I can learn a lot about low power transistors from Apple M6 and A20.
I have been predicting an M* Extreme for years. Apple’s new emphasis on AI (SI?) and the rumored return of server Macs makes this seem like an idea whose time has come.
I have thought they. should bring back the pro case but designed for stripped-down studio motherboards with built in ultrafast networking so that you can have an AI cluster working as a turnkey system in a single box

It will be the second time when Apple can claim to make a Desktop Supercomputer.
