I went much simpler: Next.js, NestJS and Postgres on one small VPS with systemd, no k8s. Probably I will need more later, for sure a replica and dumps for the database, its always a balance between cost and maintenance.
Easy, deploy it to the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'.
