I believe Trump permanently damaged both European and Canadian relations a long time ago.
And I also believe both Canada and Europe are working in the covers to distance themselves more or less permanently from USA.
It's not Trump per se. It's the reality that the Americans has fostered a system, and a society and culture that is just way off from what seems healthy by any means.
Everyone with their head in the sand keeps telling me how the rest of the world needs the US while the rest of the world reconfigures around and decouples from the US. It's equal parts humorous and tragic. It's going to make an exciting history and geopolitics lesson in a decade or two.
