If true, this feels like a really bad idea. The biggest objection everyone has to smart glasses are the cameras that feel like an invasion of privacy to everyone around the wearer. This would bring that same discomfort to AirPods, and it won't be obvious at a glance if they are normal AirPods or camera ones... so overnight AirPods go from the headphones people can't live without, to ones no one wants to be seen wearing. They may even be banned from various businesses.
