Kind of interesting article, but it misses the most obvious answer: pot.
Cigarettes (and tobacco) have never been less popular in America, and the article (barely) acknowledged that. It completely failed to mention that, at the same time, marijuana has never been more popular.
Any intelligent person might have surmised from those two simple facts that an explosion of popularity in ash trays and other accessories might have something to do with the second fact ... but the author never even realized it was a fact at all.

I don't think its right. The author is not wrong, there has been a resurgence of smoking tobacco. Anecdotally, I see it a lot more pretty mush outside any bar, club, party. And not just vapes, cigarettes. It's cool again, as are fancy accessories for it

I don't think its right. The author is not wrong, there has been a resurgence of smoking tobacco. Anecdotally, I see it a lot more pretty mush outside any bar, club, party. And not just vapes, cigarettes. It's cool again, as are fancy accessories for it
lol @ buying an ashtray just use an old can from canned food its made of metal, and can be bent or drilled as needed
I also find couches quite decadent, when a similar effect can be gained by piling old rags in the corner.
