The creepy part isn’t the glasses, it’s the camera. Remove the camera, problem solved.
Without a camera, smart glasses can still provide a HUD that display whatever the user might find useful. A cyclist could see their route and real-time heath metrics from their tracker. Someone giving a presentation could have a built-in teleprompter. A sales person could have product information. There are the normal things, like calendars and notifications. Instead of checking your phone or smart watch during a meeting, the glasses could show the time and next meeting, to allow someone to keep and eye on those things, without looking like they are anxious to leave.
I don’t know why there is an assumption that glasses must contain a camera. A simple button, to allow listening via a mic, if it’s going to have voice control, also avoids the creepiness from something always listening. These don’t seem like hard problems to solve, just remove the creepy parts.
