A full page advert made me build this.
I was just trying to listen to music and Youtube would not stop playing adverts.
I was counting them and at ten something in me snapped.
So I built the advert destroyer.
Here's how it works.
it waits for you to play Youtube. does nothing until then.
When a adert is detected it
1: mutes the video. Tries to do so before any audio plays still working on this. about a 70% success rate with 2 seconds of audio pays..
2: overlays a blank box on the youtube area that would display an advert.
3: reloads the page. On load checks if advert is there. If so.. reloads the page.
4: when advert is no longer there disables the overlay, resumes where the video was and unmutes.
WHY?
because YouTube works on a bid system. This breaks how it works. Either Youtube bids indefinitely for that advert or they let it play. This takes advantage of the fact that YouTube also detects if someone has shittty internet.
What does this mean for you?
While watching Youtube you don't see adverts. You see a black box that says "Advert Detected" and your screen refreshes a few times then video resumes.
This is a paid software because quite frankly I wanna keep using it, because it works pretty well.
