We do not have any useful algorithm to run on a quantum computer.
The problem is not that we do not have yet quantum computers powerful enough, but that even if we had such computers we would not have anything useful to run on them.
so it sounds like a douglasadams-ism, we dont know the question to the answer.
that seems to reduce to, a solution in search of a problem.
