Except for the timezone gymnastics, specs are typical of a modern $5 Chinese watch --- which I'm wearing right now.
If Casio wanted to really push the envelope, they should add a simple slot to store a micro-SD memory card. No reading electronics or connectivity or anything --- just a simple latched slot to securely hold the card. Should be cheap and easy.
Then I wouldn't have to build this to carry my backup data with me wherever I go:
- Nicknamed “Casio Royale”
- No internet connectivity
- Can quickly change to the majority of timezones not including fractional :15/:45 timezones and can switch between smaller set of locations quickly
- Manual DST change, so supports potential future removal
- 10 year battery
- 100m water resistance
- Display has a light
