I think this rather off-topic for HN - not so much because it's political, but because saying outrageous or bizarre things 10x a day is is a ragebait strategy from social media redirected toward real world power politics, and has become a staple of the MAGA movement because monopolizing attention is an effective method of amplifying one group's message over opponents', like saturation advertising. When posting non-tech stuff to HN, I think it's better to focus on actions people or institutions took rather than statements they made, since the latter can be debated endlessly without admitting of an objective conclusion.

That said, all the negative predictions about a second Trump administration have been validated in spades, and the people supporting and enabling (including some regular participants here) share in the liability. The combination of autocracy and exceptional levels of military and economic power is going to end poorly, and there will not any sympathy for the enablers when it does.

Would that be the morality he preaches? Or the one he practices?
