A next-gen XBOX which is a high-end gaming PC with a high-end price makes sense, or perhaps a line of XBOX-branded gaming PCs at various price points.
Consoles are troubled by this: it used to be the price/performance of electronics got better over time so after five years they could come out with a new device that was much more powerful at a reasonable price point and the price of the console would drop dramatically over its lifespan. That isn't happening anymore. A generationally better device is going to be a much more expensive device than current consoles.
