I grew up in a shoes-on household, but since meeting my spouse, we are now exclusively a shoes-off household.
It's so ingrained now that bringing shoes into any home seems genuinely gross.
For the office it seems like a big change to move to shoes-off. Though it would be nice during cold Midwest winters. Wearing boots all day is uncomfortable. Though I could easily wear boots and keep a pair of office shoes.
All this rambling nonsense to say: shoes are pretty gross in general. I wouldn't mind at all if my office did this, but it seems unlikely given that it's still a "no tennis shoes" type of joint.
