    Gnome as a default OS feels quite unfriendly to me: it has specific choices, and those seem to drive a specific way of using apps, in a restrictive sense, far more than macOS which used to have that reputation too. I've felt more impressed by KDE recently. This is a direct inversion from twenty years ago, where I felt Gnome was wonderful and KDE clunky.

      Its definitely opinionated, I could not get into KDE Plasma myself - did try it for a couple days but felt very 'windows' to me.
