With food prices at an all-time high, I needed to start learning how to cook. To this end, I often used ChatGPT to generate recipes, but over time that became a chore. When I wanted to revisit a recipe I enjoyed, I had to sift through many conversations to find old recipes I liked. It was painstakingly tedious!

So, in order to do less work, I did more work and built a site for myself where I could generate recipes with an advanced, curated prompt and save the ones I enjoyed into a library. Cooking became easy, and I was content. That is, until one day, while generating a Braised Pork Belly and Tofu dish, I realized that my little app could become much more!

What started as a small feature expanded into a passion for creating a space where people of all different cooking backgrounds can come together to generate, share, and discuss recipes!

To make this vision a reality, I ask all of my future users one huge favor: please be critical! CooCoo started as an isolated vision and is still very much a solo developer’s passion project. I want to take it to the next level by incorporating all sorts of ideas from cooks everywhere. Whether it’s a crazy new feature you’d want in your personal cooking app or tweaks to something existing, please don’t hold back!

This launch is very much a beta build, and I’m still actively cooking up new and exciting ideas for CooCoo. With your help, I hope to turn it from a beta app into a living, breathing community we can all use on our cooking journeys.
